This project established historical orthoimagery of Lincoln County, Wisconsin, circa 1970.
Ayres Associates provided Lincoln County, Wisconsin with historical orthoimagery services in 2021. Originally collected in 1970 by Park Aerial Services, Inc., with a 6" aerial camera mounted in a fixed-wing aircraft, the panchromatic aerial imagery was collected at 1:40,000 negative scale to support 24" pixel orthoimagery and produced to meet a horizontal accuracy of +/- 15' at 90% confidence level. Orthoimagery was delivered in PLSS 9-section GeoTiff and MrSID tiles, Township MrSIDs and a project-wide MrSID mosaic. The project area covers approximately 925 square miles.
Not to be used for purposes other than those strictly outlined in the 2021 Lincoln County Historical Imagery program.

Images were color corrected to match adjacent flight lines. The resulting imagery was globally tilted in terms of contrast and color to form a radiometrically consistent orthophoto mosaic.
These data cover the entirety of the 2021 Lincoln County Historical Imagery program.
The imagery was collected in 1970 using a 6" panchromatic aerial camera and scanned into digital form in 2021 by the USDA Farm Services Agency - Geospatial Enterprise Operations. Ground control consisted of photo identifiable and paneled survey points generalized to centerline points and other near photo-identifiable features available within the 1970 imagery. An aerotriangulation process was performed and supplemented by the survey points. The triangulated strips were rectified to a generalized DEM created from exisiting LiDAR. The imagery was mosaicked using manual seamlines generation and tone/color balanced to a project-wide consistency. PLSS 9-section panchromatic tiles were extracted from the mosaic and inspected for major pixel offsets and anomalies. When necessary, local corrections to the imagery were perfomed to minimize such effects.
